‘Colour Implosions, 2025’ are part of a larger body of work titled ‘c0de to Home, 2023-ongoing’, which is a series that I started when thinking about the impact of the changing colours that I grew-up around, in my childhood home. I recall this as never simply being a fresh lick of paint or an accent wall, but what seemed like a continual painting process. As colour began to fill the walls, then up onto the ceiling, and flowing through to the furnishings, each room felt colour saturated, smothering whatever colour was there before.

‘Colour Implosions, 2025’ takes on different forms, based on my imaginings of what may happen during a gravitational collapse or the evolution of a star when it dies, which can explode with a big bang and a sudden luminous explosion or fizzle out and form a blackhole.
